Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long meets Kien Giang voters

In the first week of October, 2016, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long met voters in U Minh Thuong, An Bien, and Chau Thanh districts of Kien Giang province to listen to their concerns before the 2nd session of the 14th National Assembly.
At the meeting, representative of the National Assembly Delegation of Kien Giang announced the estimated content of the 2nd session of the 14th National Assembly, which will be held from 20 October to 18 November 2016.
In terms of ideas and proposals of voters, the local ones showed their concerns about numerous issues, focusing on socio-economic development, including policies for people who rendered service to the nation, health insurance, protection of sovereignty over the nation’s sea and islands, environmental pollution, supervisions over road toll collection and food safety. In addition, voters suggested that the State should seriously deal with companies and factories polluting the environment and brand for Vietnam rice on the international market, as well.
What is more, voters really concerned about fake fertilizer which has been increasingly produced in the Mekong Delta due to loose management. Accordingly, fake and substandard fertilizer not only affects producers but causes damages to farmers as well because it reduces their crop output and quality. The prevalence of fake and poor-quality products has caused economic damages worth billions of dollars and upturned the livelihoods of farmers. Moreover, voters kindly requested the State to have policies to control the price of agricultural products in order to promote the income of farmers.
Regarding education, voters proposed to offload the curriculum at all levels of education. Citizens in Kien Giang province also reflected the situation of unemployment happening with newly-graduated students, which needs to promptly deal with by tough policies and plans. In addition, local voters showed their concerns about several issues related to traffic and health.
At the meetings, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long and other delegates of the National Assembly Delegation of Kien Giang recognized contribution of Kien Giang citizens and he affirmed that the National Assembly Delegation of Kien Giang will strictly consider and propose appropriate ideas and proposals to the National Assembly, especially issues related to climate change, national security, anti-corruption, environmental protection and solution to deal with unemployment. On macro issues as well as policies and responsibilities of other ministries, the head of the Justice sector recognized and promised to reflect to the National Assembly and the central body in the coming National Assembly session.
Within the framework of the working visit to Kien Giang, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long and the delegation has organized a ceremony to award 10 computers for Administration - Justice Division under the Department of Justice and 15 district-level Justice Divisions of Kien Giang province to serve the enforcement of Law on Civil Status. At the ceremony, Minister Le Thanh Long appreciated the efforts of the Kien Giang Department of Justice and its achievements recently. Accordingly, the Department implemented comprehensively key activities in all aspects, closely following the direction of ministries and locality, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality./.
