Receiving the President of the American Bar Association
On the afternoon of January 10th, Vice Minister Tran Tien Dung received Mrs Hilarie Bass, President of the American Bar Association to discuss matters of mutual interests.
Welcoming Mrs Hilarie Bass’s visit to the Ministry of Justice, Vice Minister Tran Tien Dung was pleased to inform Mrs Hilarie Bass about the significant developments of legal profession in Vietnam with 12.600 lawyers and approximately 3700 legal-practicing organizations. Many foreign lawyers and foreign legal-practicing organizations operating in Vietnam have been supporting and contributing to Vietnamese legal agencies and Vietnamese lawyers. Vice Minister Tran Tien Dung expressed the interests of Vietnamese Government in general and of the Ministry of Justice in particular regarding the expertise development for lawyers through particular Programmes and Projects.
Extending her sincere thanks to the Vice Minister, President of the American Bar Association informed him about the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Vietnam Bar Federation and the American Bar Association on the morning of January 10th, which is an important basis for cooperation. In the future, the American Bar Association is willing to share its experiences and to provide training to develop Vietnamese lawyers in order to meet the demand of international integration.
